This past June, Danyasa Yoga Arts hosted a 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Accredited Yoga Teacher Training in Dominical, Costa Rica. I had the honor and pleasure to be one of the attending students.
The training was held through the Yoga School Institute (http://schoolyogainstitute.com/) and the enthusiastic, down-to-earth, knowledgeable and inspirational instructor was Larry Thraen (www.bodhin.com).
The curriculum was very thorough and comprehensive, covering: the 8 limbs of yoga, history of yoga, Pantajali's Yoga Sutras, Vinyasa and Hatha flow yoga sequences, hands-on adjustments, Ayurveda, meditation, self-discovery and expression exercises-- and of course, many yoga classes!
Larry and Sofiah Thom (owner of Bamboo YogaPlay) will be co-hosting a 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Accredited Vinyasa Flow and Danyasa-Inspired Yoga Teacher Training March 9-30, 2012. This certification course will unite Larry's masculine, "yang" contribution of his Vinyasa Flow with Sofiah's "yin" approach and Danyasa teachings.
This unique teacher training will give you a solid foundation of the traditional fundamentals of hatha yoga, shivananda, tantra yoga, and vinyasa yoga, fused with principals of expressive healing arts, contemplative movement practice, somatics and a strong emphasis on mind, body, spirit connection.
