Reviews and Testimonials

One of our favorite things about what we do is making people happy.  We do our best to make sure you have a great time while staying with us and we strive to help you get the most out of your time in Costa Rica. We love looking back on our guest’s reviews and seeing that when we helped someone have a great experience.

Our stay at Danyasa was perfect and exactly as described in the listing. Their eco-retreat was calm, relaxing, very safe, and Brendan and his team of hosts were always so friendly and welcoming. This was our last stop in Costa Rica and we truly felt it was our favorite. In addition, the rooms were incredibly clean and the bed was super comfortable. The outdoor shower was also really nice and refreshing. I can’t wait to come back to Costa Rica and we would definitely stay at Danyasa again.

I had a wonderful time here. As a lone female traveler, I do my best to ensure that I’m safe and comfortable during my travels. Not only is Danyasa super safe, it is extremely clean, comfortable and modern. I met many other women who were traveling alone as well. I didn’t get a chance to take a yoga class, but the studio is huge and gorgeous with such a mellow vibe.

The Danyasa sanctuary is easily one of the best little spots I’ve stayed in in south pacific Costa Rica. I loved the eco-friendly building made of shipping containers and the wonderful shared kitchen. The staff here was very personable and helpful and Brendan accommodated us when we wanted to stay another night. The town of Dominical is great for relaxing, surfing and eating healthily.

We loved staying at Danyasa Eco-Retreat. The room was beautiful, clean, quiet and comfortable. We stayed with our 3 kids, a 3yr old and twin babies. We all were comfortable and everyone slept amazingly well. The communal kitchen was a huge plus and we used it to store our food and make our morning coffee. The staff were kind and so friendly, making us feel welcome and giving us a tour to make our stay easy. We would recommend it (and have already!) and will definitely stay again!

Awesome place! I’ve always wanted to see stay in a renovated shipping container. I have to say it’s nicer than most hotel rooms. Amazing sheets, quiet location, cold filtered water on tap, etc, etc. You won’t regret staying here.

For the second time in three months I have stayed at Danyasa. It to me represents a Sanctuary within Dominical. Did I feel safe?…100%! Do not miss the opportunity to take a class while you are there & enjoy the good vibe!

Everything was great! This place is awesome, cool people, good vibe. Note: this is not a “party place”, rather a very tranquillo place to relax. Everything was provided and perfect.

Super clean, super friendly, felt safe, and so happy there was parking! The shipping container had fantastic air conditioning, a great bed, and soft sheets and towels. I loved the smell of the hand soap, the small things make all the difference

Danyasa is an incredible place to stay. I met so many wonderful people passing through Dominical at Danyasa–a few who will be life long friends. The yoga studio is spectacular and the classes offered are varied–all incredible. I stayed in the womb which was perfect for me as a solo traveler looking for time to myself on a budget. The entire property is spectacular and allows for you to feel like you are always surrounded by nature. The outdoor shower is amazing! I will be back soon.

We immediately felt welcomed at Danyasa from the moment we walked in the door. All of the people were so friendly and helpful, and the accommodations were exactly what we expected. We really enjoyed meeting the other guests as well as Brendan and Sofia. The two owners knew everyone in town and helped us find surfing, yoga, and restaurants in Dominical. Their partnership with other businesses made it really easy to sign up for surf lessons, and get reservations at restaurants. Overall, we had a fantastic time and will be sure to return next time we visit Costa Rica.

We only stayed for one night but the place was beautiful and really well located. Brendan was very kind and accommodating as well. The rooms are great, perfect size and the beds and everything are great! I loved the smell! I actually want to know what oils you use to perfume the rooms 🙂 thank you so much for the stay and will definitely recommend it.

Host and staff went out of their way to ensure I had a fantastic time and got the most out of this relaxed beach town. The accommodation top-notch and I could not have been happier with the vibe and comfort factor. Highly recommended!

I just returned from two weeks at Danyasa Eco Retreat in Dominical, Costa Rica. In my short time on property it became my second home. The property is very intimate and the staff is warm and welcoming. The property itself has a magical energy and the location makes it even more special. I stayed in “the womb” which is a tiny little single bed room in the back of the property. It was a perfect little zen space for me. The outdoor kitchen was right outside my room as well as the deck. I spent lots of time there sipping tea, socializing, reading, writing, and watching the sunset. The property owner Brandon was very welcoming and made me feel like apart of the Danyasa family. Alberto, Amanda, Analien, and the rest of the staff were helpful and warm as well. I took a Yoga Class and an Unleash Your Inner Goddess class (burlesque) with Nicole. Both classes were amazing! Nicole is a phenomenal instructor. She is brilliant at talking you into poses and making you feel successful. She is warm, accessible, and very knowledgable. Dominical is a developing area that is occupied by many transplants from the US and other countries. The business owners and tica’s are friendly and helpful. It’s a very safe area to visit and there are a number of beautiful sights and excursions within a short distance from the property. I made many friends quickly. Everything about my stay was perfect…

Stayed at Danyasa for three days during a solo trip round Costa Rica. You’d be hard pressed to find anywhere more relaxing: I spent the three days practicing yoga, walking along the beach, reading in a hammock, drinking tea, chatting with people coming and going, and listening to the afternoon rain on the roof of the crazy Ewok village that Brendan’s built up around the studio. The classes and practice space are fantastic, and the teachers are creative, mindful, and super conscious of individual bodies. I will be back. 🙂
